Bernd Walz & Gundula Walz
Bernd Walz (* 1948)
studied biology and obtained his PhD at the University of Heidelberg. He worked as a scientist and professor for zoology and animal physiology for more than 40 years at the Universities of Heidelberg, Ulm, Regensburg and Potsdam. He retired in 2013.
Photography accompanied his whole professional life for scientific documentation. Besides zoology and physiology he taught microscopical techniques and microphotography.
Downstream 2006 photography became a real passion, in the beginning as a creative and artistic counterweight to his scientific work. Recently Bernd Walz concentrated more and more on fine-art landscape photography as well as microphotography, exploring the artistic possibilities of a minimalistic approach
Gundula Walz (* 1949)
worked as a technician at the Universities of Gießen, Heidelberg and Ulm.
Gundula has been infected by the photography virus around 2009 in our circle of friends, all enthusiastic photographers in Potsdam. Landscapes and waterscapes are Gundulas favourite subjects, whereby she attempts a clearly composed, picturesque interpretation in her images.
